Tesla’s AI Revolution

What if you could have your own personal assistant that Elon Musk says could “cook or clean for you, or even teach your children?” The only catch — it’s not human.

Odds are if you’re the average person you are not too keen on the idea of letting a piece of machinery take care of your children or doing anything of importance in your life. Well Tesla has just announced that they will be doing exactly that with the future release of their brand new at-home robot, Optimus.

Tesla is playing a major role in the rapid pace of AI’s advancement and insemination into our lives, becoming as commonplace as Google and cell phones. What does this mean for the future of society as a whole if we are allowing artificial intelligence to help us take care of our home and everyday tasks.

Is this a bleak future or a bright one?

Tesla’s Track Record

While it may seem like the idea of people letting Optimus into their homes is a bit far-fetched it’s not. Just look at Tesla as a company. They are built off the idea of the “far-fetched.” The concept of electric cars used to be a thought of the future but they ushered in a new era of automobiles for the globe. And now they dominate that industry, you can’t get on the road without seeing a tesla alongside you.

They did it again by creating the Cybertruck, one of, if not the most odd-looking vehicle known to the mass public. It was mocked by millions and few thought it would succeed. But you cannot argue with the millions of pre-orders for a product that was not going to be coming out anytime soon. People would have to wait years for the truck to hit the market. Yet, they waited, and the pre-orders kept coming in. Tesla has made a reputation for themselves, and their track record shows that it would be better to bet on them pulling off another miracle rather than suffering a substantial loss.

Two Waves

By the time Optimus hits the market, AI will have integrated itself into our lives even more. It will be more advanced, faster, smarter, and more acceptable to the general public. Thousands of people, perhaps even your neighbors, friends, and family will have their own “personal R2D2/C3PO” in their homes as Tesla stated on “X”. Allowing for other people to experience the product without having to buy it, which will result in more sales as they get more familiar with Optimus and see the undeniable benefits that it will offer. Because people like the ease and convenience that AI brings and if they are on the fence about a product like Optimus now, just wait until they see the inevitable use-case and convenience it will bring. They’ll practically be foaming at the mouth and throwing their cash at Elon Musk’s doorstep.

It’s at this moment when a shift will occur, or perhaps a split. With Tesla’s track record there is almost no doubt that people will adopt the idea of Optimus in their home. But in opposition there are also people against the idea of AI integrating itself into their everyday lives. That is where the split is. Those who wish to move forward and allow AI to automate certain parts of their lives and those who believe that AI has overstepped its boundaries.

Optimus is just the start of AI making itself a bigger part of our lives. It is just a matter of time before we see people starting to choose sides in the advancement of AI. There are two waves happening at the same time, one for technological advancement and one for technological degradation. Humanity is the island in the middle waiting to see which wave will crash harder.

Conclusion

Tesla is already a major player in the world economy. When an influential company like that is spearheading the advancement of AI it only guarantees the inevitable integration of it into our everyday lives. The question is how will the rest of the world react?

Which side of AI are you on? Do you think that it’s going too far or not far enough?
